Live Lawn Concert

  • Lawn of Rachel Fine and Christopher Hawthorne Pasadena, CA 91106 (map)

Starved for human contact? Live music? Friendly, neighborhood summer vibes? We are, too.

A lovely Pasadena couple opens their lawn to Salastina for our first live performance since the onset of COVID-19. The program celebrates Composer Mentor Derrick Spiva Jr and the June 22 launch of Salastina’s first podcast episode, which features his American Mirror for String Quartet.

While this event is free and open to the public, capacity is limited due to safety concerns. For that reason, the address will only be provided within 24 hours of the event to those who’ve RSVPed. RSVPs will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In addition to celebrating the release of Salastina’s first podcast episode, this event also serves to raise funds for Sounds Promising, Salastina’s Young Artist Program. Donations in support of a full scholarship for a young composer of color are encouraged.

BYO lawn chairs/blankets/seating, snacks, and beverages. In addition to our required safety protocol, use your common sense regarding precautionary measures.
