The Milstein Stradivarius is one of the maker's finest. Owned by beloved local philanthropists Jerry and Terri Kohl, the instrument is used by the finest players around the world. Soloist Janine Jansen recently filmed a documentary on it; for most of the year, LA Phil Principal Concertmaster Martin Chalifour and LACO Concertmaster Margaret Batjer have it in joint custody. Bruce Dukov, a Milstein protege, hasn't laid hands on the instrument in decades. At this unique event, he'll play the instrument and share first-hand, intimate stories from its time in the hands of its legendary owner: Nathan Milsten.
